Children pick up sounds naturally, which makes childhood the best time to build correct recitation. Tajweed for Kids teaches the rules in a simple, practical way, so children learn to recite beautifully without being weighed down by terminology.
Tutors use colour-coded pages, repetition and small rewards to keep young learners motivated.
What You Will Learn
- The correct sound of every letter
- Heavy and light letters
- Noon saakinah and tanween in simple steps
- Basic rules of madd (lengthening)
- Qalqalah and ghunnah through listening and copying
- Applying the rules in the short surahs of Juz Amma
Who Is This Course For?
The course is for children from about six years old who can already read from the Qaida or the Mushaf. Younger children or those still learning letters should begin with a reading course first.
How the Classes Work
Lessons are short and lively. The tutor recites, the child repeats, and then the child reads alone while the tutor listens. One small rule is introduced at a time and practised in several verses before moving on. Parents are told what to review at home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tajweed too difficult for young children?
Not when it is taught by ear and in small steps. Children often learn it faster than adults.
Does my child need to memorise the rule names?
Only gradually. The first aim is correct recitation; the terms come later.
How long are the lessons?
Usually 30 minutes, which suits most children’s attention span.
